January Newsletter

Art & Yoga in 2018

On this day, the fourth of the new year, I watch from my window as the falling snow increases in intensity. The first snowstorm of the year has arrived. I am grateful for this “snow day”. An unexpected day to organize my space and thoughts after a very busy December. This scenario of being inside and watching the weather outside feels as if it mimics the personal process of drawing attention inward and observing thoughts from the quiet home of my body. For me, this month of January is like taking a long, deep breath. Each year it creates a pause for time to reflect on what has transpired, and space to steer towards the direction I wish to proceed.

This inaugural newsletter is part of my reorganizing, creating a format to better communicate news about where you can find me for yoga classes and events, as well as, updates on new art projects and exhibits. Be sure to sign to sign up if you are interested in receiving my email updates and feel free to share this newsletter with anyone who may have interest.

Wednesday, January 10th, will launch the start of an eight week session of 9am Slow Flow yoga at the lovely Barn at Windpointe in Freeport. If you are a new student with me at the Barn, your first class is only $5! The regular drop-in price is $10 a class, or you may choose to commit to a block of time and enjoy a little savings with the purchase of 4 classes for $35, or all 8 classes for $70. I would love to have you experience a practice at this peaceful location nestled in the Maine woods. All levels of practitioner are welcome! Click here for the event page on Facebook.

Friday mornings at 8am join me at Freeport Yoga Company. These ongoing Morning Flow classes are energetically a bit faster than my Slow Flow offering, but still accessible for all levels, as well as, a great way to begin the day and round out the week. Please visit their website for the full schedule, pricing options, and online registration.

I continue to work on new images for my handmade cards and framed pieces. I am also developing new ideas for my one-of-a-kind yoga inspired artwork. I will keep you updated as those ideas progress.
Currently, my cards are available at Abacus, and cards and select framed pieces may also be purchased at Freeport Yoga Company and Hole in the Wall Studioworks. Feel free to contact me with questions or special requests.

While it can be challenging to find time around the obligations and expectations that we fulfill each day, it is so important to intentionally make time for the practices that nurture and replenish us. I create art to stimulate my imagination, and express what lies within me that words cannot. I practice and teach yoga to connect back to my true nature and to the inspiring community that has developed around the practice.

May January offer each of us a long, deep breath and a warm, safe spot from which to reflect.

Warm wishes,
